The site, located at the end of a cul de sac, originally housed a single large family home. MortonScarr secured planning approval for 3 new family homes on the site, through the renovation of the existing building into two semi-detached properties, and a third, contemporary timber framed dwelling, located on the site of an old pool house. The existing property was split, reorganised and thermally upgraded in order to take full advantage of the fantastic views and generous floor to ceiling heights.

The new build dwelling was designed as an angular timber clad form, projecting out from the hillside. A large open plan living area with balcony and covered terrace were placed at the first floor to offer panoramic views out over Lyme Regis. The main space benefits from a plywood ceiling that follows the monopitch of the roof, giving a dynamism and warmth to the space.
