Description
MortonScarr Architects recently completed this replacement house in the Surrey countryside. Planning approval was obtained in summer 2019, with construction work commencing later that year.
The site is located within the greenbelt and in the grounds of a larger manor house. This new family home has replaced two existing workman's cottages on the site which became tired and dated.
The ground floor of the house is formed by a limestone plinth with extruded canopies and large areas of glazing that allow views over the rolling countryside. The first floor bedrooms sit inside a dark stained timber clad box which sits in-bound of the larger ground floor footprint.
Works completed on site in autumn 2022.
