Description
This townhouse is located on a quiet side street in a busy part of South West London. The Client purchased a run down house which had two rear extensions that were large but disconnected and poorly constructed. An early decision was made to demolish both of the extension including everything which was not original to the house and create on full width extension to span the entire rear of the building. This extension has a polished concrete floor finish and includes a large open plan space with the kitchen, dining and living areas all at garden level.
Metal black windows have been used with the concrete floor to create an industrial but homely feel. A new corridor has been created down the spine of the ground floor to create connections to all of the existing rooms and new spaces.
The rear elevation and internal walls have all been adjusted at first floor level to create a full depth duel aspect master suite. Bathrooms and en-suites have been amended and refurbished on all floors and the building has been fully refurbished
Externally, the existing facades have been stripped back to the original brick finish with an acid wash. All original features have been preserved and reinstated where they had been previously lost including the original cornices doors and mouldings.
