Description
A recently approved planning application for 16 new apartments on a constrained site to the west of Tunbridge Wells train station. The design responds to the existing context of the local conservation area and various larger scale buildings to the south, including our own Heathervale House, completed in 2019.
The materiality proposed is a mixture of pale brick, concrete, and bronze metalwork. The top floor penthouses are set back below a bronze pergola crowning the building, each with generous roof gardens. Corner balconies are recessed into the mass of the building, whilst bronze detailing inlaid into concrete panels adds a decorative motif that runs around the building.
