Description
The three houses proposed for the site have been designed as a contemporary response to the ancient woodland within which they are sited.
The proposals benefit from heavily glazed corridors that connect different parts of the buildings. These will provide the experience of walking through the forest whilst in the home and heighten the experience of living in this unique environment. Open plan living spaces flow out onto a level terrace giving all properties good indoor outdoor flow. This will lead on to garden areas that fall within the line of curtilage. Terraces located on the upper floors of the properties allow a direct connection to the canopy of the surrounding trees.
Black timber and glass sit between white pigmented concrete bands, expressing the floor plate and elevating the roof line. A local stone is also used for many of the vertical elements to increase legibility and create a solid feel.
Full Planning Approval was obtained early in 2023.
