Description
This development sits on a busy intersection in South London which has been labelled the gateway to Bromley. The prominent site which previously housed a series of small run-down Victorian houses and shops had been earmarked by the Local Authority as a key development opportunity following the recent transformation of surrounding areas
MortonScarr was initially appointed to undertake feasibility studies for the development opportunities of the area which included a combination of potential adjacent sites. A planning application was then developed for the scheme and was approved at the planning committee on the first submission.
The ground floor includes over 3000ft² of retail space and three access points to the upper floors to create distinct separate entrances. The upper floors include 29 apartments spread over the three cores which separate the apartments including a rear section of the development which has more private larger flats over the car parking area. An intricate arrangement of the upper floors ensures that all flats have duel aspect. A private gated parking area has also been provided for residents with amenity space and electric car charging points.
The building is clad in contrasting red and white bricks to create a layered façade to the street. A curved design is used to transition the corner between the two main roads. The project has been taken from feasibility through to site assistance and completion, the construction works recently completed and all of the apartments have been sold off plan.
